Turkey Apple Orchard & Vineyard Anti-Hail Net Project

Background

The customer is an agricultural distributor in Turkey. The company mainly serves commercial apple orchards, vineyards, and other fruit growers with agricultural supplies and related services.

For high-value crops such as apples and grapes, fruit appearance, condition, and harvest quality can directly affect sales value. However, many orchard and vineyard areas in Turkey face hail and other severe weather risks from late spring to early summer. In the first half of 2026, Anadolu Agency reported that natural disasters affected around 900,000 decares of agricultural land in Turkey, with hail recorded in 14 provinces. Hail can directly damage fruit, leaves, and branches, affecting seasonal yield, market quality, and later sales value.

There is strong demand for large-area anti-hail net coverage in local orchards and vineyards. However, the distributor did not yet have a reliable anti-hail net supplier for these projects.

The main needs included:

Solution

Based on the crops and project conditions of local end customers, INSONSHADE provided several customizable anti-hail net options. The products focused on hail protection and could also provide an added bird-barrier function where the mesh and full covering structure were suitable. This gave the distributor more options for different apple orchard and vineyard customers.

The main product supplied was YST65 Raschel netting. It is made from UV-stabilized HDPE monofilament, with a weight of 65 g/m², a yarn diameter of 0.28 mm, and a triangular mesh size of 8.5 × 2.5 × 2 mm. The Raschel knitted structure is suitable for long-term outdoor orchard use. This mesh direction focuses on hail protection and can also provide an added physical barrier against many birds. The product can be customized in width and length to suit different installation methods. The anti-hail net range supports customized widths from 1 to 16 m and lengths from 1 to 100 m. This made it easier for the distributor to arrange purchasing and future replenishment for different end customers.

Result

Through this project, the customer expanded its agricultural product range with anti-hail net options for apple orchards and vineyards. This allowed the distributor to support new orchard-protection projects and offer more agricultural protection choices to existing customers, creating more opportunities for further cooperation. For end growers, this netting solution focused on hail protection with an added bird-barrier function, making it better suited to the real outdoor needs of orchards and vineyards. Stable specifications, customizable sizes, and reliable bulk supply also made it easier for the distributor to use the same solution in later projects.
