Background
The customer is a large-scale vegetable grower in Nigeria. The farm mainly uses anti-insect net house structures to create physical barriers around large growing areas. Vegetable production in Nigeria faces different pest risks, including aphids, hornworms, thrips, cutworms, and whiteflies. For cabbage and other leafy vegetables, leaf appearance, leaf condition, and crop growth can affect their market value.
For a more integrated approach to pest management, the customer needed physical exclusion to help reduce the chance of adult insects entering the growing area. Because the coverage area was large and the farm may grow different vegetables in different seasons, the customer also needed factory support for structure size, yarn diameter, and mesh opening. Local supply channels could not meet both the customization and cost requirements, so the customer looked for a more suitable supplier worldwide.
The customer’s main needs included:
- Crop Use: Suitable for commercial cabbage and other leafy vegetable growing areas.
- Integrated Control: Used as a physical barrier to help reduce the entry of different flying pests.
- Thrips Need: A 60-mesh direction selected for the customer’s thrips-control requirement.
- Large Coverage: Supports complete top and side coverage for large growing areas.
- Custom Options: Supports customized mesh specifications and bulk supply.
Solution
Based on the customer’s growing method, crop plans, and pest-management needs, INSONSHADE supplied an outdoor anti-insect net solution. For the customer’s thrips-control requirement, we selected UV-stabilized Pestix-603016 60-mesh anti-insect netting. The length and width were customized for the top and side sections of the structure, helping the customer cover the growing area more completely.

For pest exclusion and naturally ventilated crop protection.
Factory-direct supply gave the customer more targeted options for size, yarn diameter, and mesh opening, while also meeting the cost needs of a large-area project. Stable specifications, reliable bulk supply, and replenishment support also allow the same net-house structure to be used in future cabbage and leafy vegetable projects.

Result
Through this project, the customer received an anti-insect netting direction that was more suitable for large-scale vegetable production. The net house added a physical protection layer around cabbage and other leafy vegetable growing areas without relying on a fully enclosed greenhouse. This approach allowed the farm to continue using local natural light and natural ventilation for commercial production.

For future projects, the customer can use different mesh openings, yarn diameters, and cover sizes based on the growing area, seasonal crop plan, and pest-control needs. Stable specifications, customized cover sizes, and bulk supply also provide a practical base for future replenishment and long-term cooperation.
